Homemade Hershey's Syrup

My daughter has hot cocoa every morning with warmed milk. What I liked most about this recipe is that you can tweak the sugar amount (somewhat) to how sweet you like it.  Also, it doesn't contain artificial ingredients so you can feel good about serving it up to your kids (or yourself)!

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar (I scaled down to 1 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup water
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Whisk cocoa and water in a saucepan on low heat until cocoa dissolves.  Add in the sugar and whisk until dissolved on low to medium heat.  Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes watching carefully as mixture could boil over if left unattended.  After 3 minutes, remove from heat and allow to cool.  Add in vanilla and salt and stir.  Store in an airtight container in fridge!
